Sony MP3 Player With A Built-In USB Connector (male - super handy)

I love MP3 players - even in the post smartphone era where camera, phone, email, mp3 player are all combined.

One of the problems with some MP3 players is that they require a separate micro/mini USB cable in order to charge or upload songs. Not convenient when I am traveling. Worse yet, some require a separate propitiatory cable (sorry Sony, you were guilt).

So the engineers at Sony developed a MP3 player with a built in USB connect - male kind. What does that mean? No more cables!!

1. Built in USB (male) connector means no more annoying & propitiatory cables!

But wait, the Sony engineers did not stop there. Have you found yourself getting bored of your own MP3 selection? Or you wanted to sample a bit of each songs first before you settle down on a piece. Sony created a "ZAPPIN" feature that randomly samples the first 10 seconds of each song, then skips to the next, until you stop the ZAPPIN. How cool!

2. See the "ZAP" button? Press it and the first 10 seconds of random songs will be played.

Finally, for people who grew up on graphically equalizers, there is good news. This Sony MP3 player has a simple 4-circular-segment LED that lights up in accordance to your MP3 song. Which means your audio experience is enhanced with lights!

3. Enhance your audio enjoyment with a unique 4 LED visual equalizer.

In conclusion, the days of the MP3 is not dead with a well thought out MP3 features with surprising features.

Sony Glorious Past, Almost Made Irrevalent, Focus On The Future

Sony products have always been part of my life.
In fact, it was always with me during the formative years of my life.
Formative meaning puberty, hormonal imbalance, zits.

It started with my first high end TV : a Sony Trinitron. It was a 13" TV, but it was my window to the world. During the VHS BetaMax wars, I sided with Betamax because of its smaller tape size the Sony brand. The 80's was a pop music tidal wave - Madonna, Michael Jackson, GoGos - and my Sony Walkman was always with me. There was a time when Sony focused on product line extension downward - lower price, but also lowered the build & quality of products.

The next Sony innovation was also a big gamble for Sony - the PlayStation. Nintendo and Sega had just displaced Atari as the next generation gaming systems. How can a company with ZERO video gaming history compete? It took a combination of mass storage (CD format) and polygon pushing games to break the Nintendo & Sega monopoly. It was gigantic success.

Sony first attempt at MP3 was a failure (ATRAC music protection made the players very hard to use). Their later generation MP3 players forgo the protection and made some very unique MP3 players. Sony partnered with Ericcson for mobile phones, and later bought the Ericcson portion of the partnership.

Sony now is all but a shadow of it self. Samsung has had its cross-hair on the head of Sony and has succeeded.   Down and out, there is only one direction for Sony to go. Up. With a refocus on innovation, driven by its pride, Sony will experience a rebirth.
